Ursula, The Evil Sea Witch, is easily comparable to that of The Devil. Ursula takes every opportunity at her disposal to attempt to gain power and to become the ruler of Atlantica. She prides herself on her evil abilities and enjoys causing other people, especially King Triton, pain and anguish. A key aspect of the Devil, is that it is regarded as evil. It carries out evil tasks against others, and enjoys causing harm to others. Ursula represents pure evil within the world of Atlantica, as The Devil represents pure evil in the Christian world. Ursula's main objective is to do whatever it takes to get rid of King Triton, so that she can resume power over Atlantica. Ursula recognizes Ariel's desire to find her love on land, and takes this opportunity to persuade Ariel to allow Ursula to "help" her. In return for Ursula switching Ariel's fins for feet, Ariel must give her voice to Ursula. This can be linked back to the Story of Adam and Eve. Within this story, The Devil persuades Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, and to go against the orders of God. The Devil has persuaded Eve to go against God, the same way that Ursula has persuaded Ariel to go against her father, King Triton. Ursula's main goal in life is to inflict harm onto others, similar to the actions of The Devil.
